The armor chart above lists all the common armor types. Players and GMs are encouraged to discuss any alternative weapons and their stats during character creation. Equipping a suit of armor takes 3 Deed actions for each level of Defense the armor grants, minimum 1. The properties for armor sets are described below:
- Guard is a pool of temporary Health that the wearer gains by equipping this armor. Guard is spent before Health is, so armor is damaged before its wearer. Guard can only be restored with a Craft - Gear check at an appropriate station, but an armor's Defense rating still applies even if it has run out of Guard.
- Defense adds to the character's Defense score when they are wearing this armor. This slot takes up the Armor section of the Defense stat and does not count as one of the two maximum Modifications allowed per stat.
- Fatigue applies the Fatigue penalty to the armor's wearer while the armor is worn. Every rank of Fatigue imposes a -1 penalty to the wearer's D20 rolls, Ability DCs, Defense, and Maneuver checks.
- Speed applies the listed penalty to the wearer's movement speed while the armor is worn.
